One app spec. Six AI coding tools. Scored.

Every week I give the same spec to Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit, Cursor and Claude Code. I time each build, add up what it cost, and score the result out of 100. You get the numbers and the live apps.

No results yet. The first build, a habit tracker, is running this week.

One email a week with the results. Unsubscribe any time.

The first three builds

  1. 1. Habit tracker (Easy)

Accounts, a list of habits, check one off each day, a streak count and a 7-day chart. Data has to survive a refresh. Has to work on a phone.

    Results: not published yet.

  2. 2. Link-in-bio with click stats (Medium)

A public page at /u/handle with editable links. Count clicks and show clicks per link per day. The owner can pick a theme color.

    Results: not published yet.

  3. 3. AI recipe app with Stripe test checkout (Hard)

Type in ingredients, get a recipe from an LLM, save favorites. A Pro tier unlocks through Stripe test mode. Free users get rate-limited.

    Results: not published yet.

How scoring works

70 points for the app itself: does it pass the checklist, does it look and feel finished, is the code readable, did it deploy. 30 points for the run: time, money spent, and how often I had to step in and fix things by hand. Every tool gets the same prompt and a 2-hour limit.
